If you’re looking for luxury homes in Tampa, you need a step by step guide of all the most popular housing communities and condos.
We decided it was time to give the Tampa buyers a guide breaking down what each community in Tampa has to offer for the luxury crowd.
New Tampa
This section of the Tampa bay area is located north west of downtown. People choose to live in New Tampa when they want to be within striking distance of downtown, but don’t want all of the noise and traffic of the city.
Living in New Tampa puts you about 25 minutes outside of downtown Tampa.
New Tampa is anchored by the large community of Tampa Palms, which has 85 acres of parks and 45 lakes.
Tampa Palms
Luxury home buyers will love the amenities at the Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club, located in the heart of New Tampa.
Those from out of town looking at real estate in Tampa Palms will enjoy the fact that the club has a great hotel, a perfect place to stay to get a true feel of what Tampa Palms has to offer as a resident.
Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club Amenities:
Golf
The 18 hole Arthur Hill course is the main attraction in Tampa Palms. Practice putting greens, driving range, and instruction from PGA Professionals will keep you on top of your game.
The Director of Golf, Kevin Kenny, has been a PGA member for 22 years and currently teaches PGA Tour member George McNeill.
Tennis
The tennis facility at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club is out of this world. They have 11 Har Tru courts with professional instructors on staff to help you with your game. If your ready to start competing check out the monthly club tournaments, tennis club mixers, and interclub matches.
Fitness, Swimming and Dining
Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club’s newest addition is “Elements”, the luxurious dining hall and lounge area in the clubhouse. The restaurant features specials every day of the week and Club Express, let’s you call ahead and take your order home.
The club features a junior olympic style swimming pool (with the cool lane dividers) and you can even rent it out for pool parties.
Seven Oaks
Ok so Seven Oaks has something that is the envy of all other communities in New Tampa. The clubhouse swimming pool has a waterslide.
That’s right–a waterslide.
Don’t be surprised when all of your friends want to come visit and use the pool!
The clubhouse in Seven Oaks also features a full blown movie theater that residents can use, as well as a cafe that is open 7 days a week with snacks.
Seven Oaks is smaller than neighboring Tampa Palms, but it certainly is not lacking in beauty.
Seven Oaks wins the day in the looks department, but fails short of Tampa Palms on Amenities. Thanks to it’s smaller size, Seven Oaks has a tight knit community feel. Tampa bay area luxury home buyers looking for a more small-town feel will appreciate Seven Oaks.
Grand Hampton
Grand Hampton is the community of choice for nature lovers. Half of the community’s 596 acres are protected wetlands and lakes. The clubhouse amenities are decent, but they are the least of the three communities in New Tampa. Buyers that are looking to be one with nature and aren’t interested in very many frills will prefer Grand Hampton.
Hunter’s Green
Hunter’s green is home to 3,000 residents and features the Hunter’s Green Golf and Country Club. The clubhouse is run by Clubcorp, the same company that runs the Tampa Palms club.
Golf
The pride of Hunter’s Green is the 18 hole Tom Fazio golf course. in 2006 the course was completely renovated by the Fazio design team and now features TiFEagle greens at every hole. The 6,979 yard course can be enjoyed by players of all skill level. The golf team is headed up by Matt Presnell, who has been a PGA professional since 1997.
Tennis
Hunter’s Green Golf and Country Club bests Tampa Palm’s club with 17 Har Tru courts with stadium seating for spectators. League play is available for the more competitive players, and those looking to improve their game will appreciate the club’s staff of tennis pros that are available for private instruction.
Fitness, Swimming and Dining
The fitness center at the Hunter’s Green club has everything from a smith machine to a Roman Chair (yes it’s as hard to do as it sounds). One on one personal training is available.
Grab a bite to eat at the Center Court Cafe or the Fazio grill if your looking for a more upscale meal.
Swimming facilities are top notch at Hunter’s Green. The pool is olympic style and beginners and pros alike can take swimming lessons with the Tampa Bay Aquatics Swim Team.
Arbor Greene
Arbor Greene is comprised of 14 different “villages” each with it’s own unique vibe. The community is anchored by the the multimillion dollar clubhouse and athletic facility. Arbor Greene boasts 3 pools and tennis courts that stay open until 11 pm. The junior olympic training pool is climate controlled all year long, so it’s never too hot or too cold. Luxury home buyers looking in Arbor Greene will appreciate the attention to detail found throughout the entire community.
South Tampa
South Tampa is home to some of the most beautiful properties in Florida. Condos on the water overlooking the Tampa Bay are all over the place in this neighborhood. And their is no shortage of luxurious condos in this region of the city.
If being on the water turns you on, you should focus your search on the South Tampa neighborhood. Bayshore Blvd. is loaded with luxury condos right on the water.
The Bellamy on Bayshore
Condos at the Bellamy on Bayshore have very open floor plans, balconies and amazing views of the Tampa Bay. Wine connoisseurs will love the Bellamy for it’s wine cellar where residents can store their own private collection.
They also found the space to add a movie room, a library and a few business rooms and even what they call a “fragrance garden.”
A big perk of almost all of the condos on Bayshore Blvd. are the amazing views of the Tampa Bay from your balcony.
A huge plus for The Bellamy are the guest suites that residents can use when they have friends or family coming to visit from out of town.
The Bayshore Diplomat
This place really lives up to it’s name. The style of the condos can simply be described at “presidential.” Elegant victorian accents come together with the shoreline of the Tampa Bay to create a unique urban experience.
As far as amenities go, it has everything you would expect from a luxury condo, including 24 hour security, pool and sauna and conference / card rooms. It also has a full outdoor tennis court, which is rare for a condo community near downtown.
The Stovall on Bayshore
Despite some setbacks with the sprinkler system in 2014, the Stovall on Bayshore Blvd. is back and doing better than ever.
Like the Bellamy, the Stovall has guest suites for when residents have guests that need accommodation. The security monitored parking is great especially for those that collect cars and want that extra peace of mind.
The Valencia in Old Hyde Park
This Mediterranean-Inspired community features 22 condominiums and 5 townhouses. Unlike many of the other condos in South Tampa, the Valencia is more inland and closer to the shopping, restaurants and business of downtown Tampa.
Castillo at the Westshore Yacht club
The Castillo at the Westshore Yacht club is one of the top buildings for luxury home buyers that want to live right on the water with their boat by there side.
This building is literally located inside the Westshore Yacht club.
Boat lovers rejoice!
The Castillo has a 149 boat slip marina, private theater and billiards room, pool, fitness center and spa.
The Westshore Yacht club is also constructing a new residence called Casa Bahia, which promises to be just as grand as the Castillo for boat owners that are looking to buy a waterfront condo in Tampa.
Howell Park
Howell Park is a 55 and older community that sits on the famous Bayshore Blvd. Condos in Howell Park have views of the Tampa Bay and come with your typical luxury condo amenities like a 24 hour security person, an awesome community pool.
Howell Park is a great option for anyone looking to be in a 55+ community but still want to be apart of the downtown Tampa city scene.
Harbor Island
Seddon Cove
Great place to own a boat. Seddon Cove has 72 luxury condos all with waterfront views and an opportunity for boat owners to dock their boats at docks attached to the property. This is definitely a great spot for boat owners.
The Plaza Harbor Island
City life , nice luxury but it’s defiantly an urban environment. Nice courtyard. Residents are surrounded by other condos, so people that like a “communal” feel in an urban environment will enjoy life at the Plaza in Harbor Island.
Parkside One Bayshore
Parkside One of Bayshore condominiums have 104 units ranging from 1400 sq. ft lofts to 2,000sq. ft. 3 bedroom units.
Parkside was one of the first condos built in what is now the very popular (and populated) Bayshore blvd. One of the great features about Parkside One is that every unit gets a view. The first few ground floors of the building are parking, so even if you find yourself in a first floor unit, you have a great view of downtown Tampa skyline and the Tampa Bay waterfront.
Downtown
Skypoint Condos
Skypoint has a super modern look and feel. It’s loaded with the standard luxury amenities and a few extras like a pool table, posh lounge areas, a sundeck (always nice in FL), and an outdoor bar.
Skypoint is definitely going for the hip, celebrity style. It’s the 9th tallest building in Tampa and it really sticks out (in a good way).
Channelside
The “Channel Distrcit”, known as Channelside to locals, is an awesome waterfront community on the Ybor Channel. Channelside is home to many cool shops, restaurants and bars and the neighborhood actually gets it’s nickname from the popular Channelside Bay Plaza entertainment complex.
Channelside is also home to the Florida Aquarium and Amaile Arena (formerly known as the Tampa Bay Times Forum).
The Towers of Channelside
The Towers of Channelside is a luxury condo with the coolest pool ever (it has a walking bridge that goes over the top). And it’s huge. And it has waterfalls. Oh it also has awesome views (it’s five stories off of the ground floor).
Pool lovers, rejoice!
All of the floor plans have balconies, over 9’ high ceilings, and granite countertops. Another great thing about the Towers is that it’s priced competitively for those looking to get started in the world of luxury condo home ownership.
