Why trust us?
We want to help you reach your real estate goals and save money. When you hire a service through a link on this page, we may earn a small commission. This doesn’t influence our rankings or advice. Learn how we researched and ranked these companies.
How discount realtor commissions work
  • Atlanta home sellers typically pay a 6.00% average real estate commission.
  • 3.00% goes to the listing agent, 3.00% goes to the buyer’s agent.
  • Discount real estate brokerages offer a lower listing fee (e.g., 1.5%) that yields big savings at closing.
  • Still expect to cover the buyer’s agent fee, no matter who you list with.
How to choose a discount realtor
  • Compare at least 2–3 agents to find the best fit for your situation.
  • Evaluate their past sales, customer reviews, and do an in-person interview, ideally at your property.
  • Focus on finding the right real estate agent vs. the lowest rate to save money and prevent stress.
Which level of service is right for you?
  • Full service: Best option for most people. Same general services and support offered by a traditional agent, including end-to-end, in-person representation.
  • Limited & flat fee MLS service: Only for experienced sellers looking to sell by owner. Includes a flat fee MLS listing in your area and possibly some other add-on services, but zero agent representation or support.

Our take: Clever is our top pick in Atlanta, GA, for home sellers looking to save on realtor commission without sacrificing service.

What we like: Clever gets you discounted rates (up to 50%) from non-discount realtors. Plus Clever’s matching service is highly rated and free to use with no obligation.

How it works: Clever matches you with top local realtors from major brokerages like RE/MAX and Compass. You compare options to find the best fit and get the special 1.5% listing fee (same as Redfin) no matter who you choose.

Pros

  • Sell with a traditional agent from a name-brand brokerage (not a discount agent)
  • Agents work for up to 50% off their typical rate when you go through Clever
  • Most agent selection by far — choose from hundreds of top Atlanta realtors

Cons

  • No guarantee you’ll be able to work with a specific agent or brokerage you have in mind
  • Add-ons like professional staging, drone photos, and 3D tours may cost extra (agents will break down what’s included during their listing presentation)

Fee structure

  • 1.5% listing fee ($3,000 min.) at closing
  • 2–3% buyer’s agent commission at closing

Our take: Redfin’s discount real estate service offers a decent overall value for most home sellers in Atlanta.

What we like: Redfin’s 1.5% listing fees can net you solid savings, and you can get an additional 0.5% listing fee savings if you sell and buy with Redfin within 12 months. Redfin is also a large, well-established brand with more discount realtors to choose from than other local discount real estate brokers.

Things to watch out for: Redfin’s tech-centric, team-based approach to selling isn’t for everyone. Redfin conducts most of the sales process remotely, and you work with a lead agent and a back-office team. Redfin also has a minimum $4,500 fee in Atlanta. So if your home sells for below $300,000, you’ll pay slightly more than the advertised 1.5% rate.

Pros

  • Solid listing fee savings
  • Established brand and decent agent selection
  • Tech-forward approach may appeal to some sellers

Cons

  • Higher minimum fee vs. other Atlanta options
  • High-volume, team-centric approach may not be for everyone
  • Less agent selection than Clever

Fee structure

  • 1.5% listing fee ($4,500 min. in Atlanta) at closing
  • 2–3% buyer’s agent commission at closing
  • 0.5% listing fee refund if you also buy with Redfin within 12 months

Our take: SimpleShowing offers sellers in the metro Atlanta area a cost-saving approach with full service and transparent pricing.

What we like: At only 1%, SimpleShowing’s listing fee offers the potential to save thousands on commission, particularly for high-value properties. Also, the company maintains a high average rating from past clients in Georgia and Florida, indicating quality service.

Things to watch out for: If your property sells for below $500,000 you’ll need to factor in the $5,000 minimum fee, which will be higher than the 1% rate.

Pros

  • Low 1% listing fee
  • Full-service brokerage that includes professional photos
  • Positive customer reviews

Cons

  • Higher minimum fee may affect savings for lower-priced homes
  • Limited transaction data in the Atlanta market
  • Limited agent selection in Atlanta compared to Clever and Redfin

Our take: Duffy Realty of Atlanta provides the lowest listing fee out of the discount real estate brokers we found, but it may not offer the level of service that most sellers need.

What we like: Duffy Realty’s 0.88% listing fee allows you to walk away with significantly more money in your pocket after your sale. The company has a strong presence in the Atlanta metro city area with generally positive reviews, showing high satisfaction among its clients.

Things to watch out for: While Duffy Realty offers an attractive low commission, you should verify what services it includes in its rate and consider vetting multiple brokerages. Duffy does have some negative reviews online, so it’s worth doing due diligence to make sure its service is right for you. If you decide to cancel your service, you’ll have to pay a $150 cancellation fee.

Pros

  • Lowest listing fee in the Atlanta market
  • Local market understanding
  • Relatively positive customer reviews

Cons

  • Not clear about services included
  • Professional photography and lockbox aren’t included in basic package (available as add-ons

Our take: Trelora Realty is a full-service discount real estate company with a team approach, offering potential savings on realtor fees in Atlanta, GA.

What we like: Trelora provides significantly discounted commission rates compared to traditional realtors, which has generated positive customer reviews. This company also uses a team of real estate professionals to serve each client, which could allow for a more diversified range of expertise and service.

Things to watch out for: Rather than assigning a single agent to facilitate the sales process, Trelora uses a team of agents. This approach could cause confusion or a lack of personalization (especially if there’s no clear communication).

Pros

  • Substantial savings with 1% commission fee
  • Positive customer feedback
  • Some sellers may prefer the experience of working with a team rather than a solo agent

Cons

  • Potentially less-personalized service due to team approach

Michael Smith – Atlanta Real Estate Agent offers a low 1% listing fee with a $1,595 minimum commission fee, but we didn’t include it on our main list due to a lack of customer reviews and transaction data. This missing information makes it difficult to gauge its effectiveness and reliability in the Atlanta market.

Linc Realty of Atlanta is a discount real estate company that offers full-service and limited-service packages. While its full-service package has a low 1.25% listing fee, the lack of customer reviews and transaction data prevents us from including this company on our Atlanta list. Assist-2-Sell, an established discount real estate franchise and flat fee MLS company, has declined in recent years. While local offices typically offer full-service and tiered, flat fee pricing options, the details may vary. We kept Assist-2-Sell off our list because we couldn’t find any data about the company in the Atlanta area. We saw no available information regarding pricing, recent transactions, or customer reviews to confirm the company’s local activity.

Discount Realtor is a real estate referral service that matches you with a discount realtor in the Atlanta area. Its real estate agents offer discount commission or a flat fee listing on the local MLS. Why trust us

Data sources

Our Research Team gathered #N/A discrete pricing and service models to create our initial list of Atlanta, GA discount real estate brokerages. We then compiled and analyzed a further #N/A publicly available data points tied to past transactions, customer reviews, licensing info, and more to categorize each service and create our final list and rankings.

Methodology

The Real Estate Witch Team used public business directories to identify every company in the greater Atlanta region calling itself a discount real estate broker or agent. We then filtered that list down and ranked the top Atlanta options based on the following criteria:

  • Service level: We only included and rated full-service discount realtors and brokerages to start, which we think are the best option for most home sellers. These companies offer the same key services you’d expect from a traditional realtor, including in-person representation and end-to-end support.
  • Pricing: We assessed each company’s fee structure and cross-referenced it with the service model to determine who was offering (a) the best overall value — price vs. service — and (b) the fewest unfavorable pricing terms, like high minimums, nonrefundable upfront fees, or other hidden costs.
  • Customer reviews: We evaluated all verifiable customer reviews for each service. We considered not only the total review counts, average customer ratings, and key positive and negative themes, but we also assessed factors like how recent and relevant the reviews were to customers making hiring decisions right now.
  • Sales activity: We looked at available data about past transactions to gauge sales performance and activity level.
✍️ Editor’s note: Limited or missing data doesn’t disqualify a company from our list, but it does lower the company’s ranking. We base our rankings on objective measurements, and we can only measure what we can see. We regularly try to find missing data to update our rankings accordingly.
